Marketing Manager – Events & Conferences

to £30,000 + Excellent Benefits

Reporting to the Marketing Director for Live and Digital Events and managing one marketing executive and two data researchers, the scope of this role includes:

Create innovative traditional & digital marketing plans & deliver campaigns to ensure KPIs are met for paid for registrations & lead generation

Contribute to the overall delegate acquisition & lead generation strategy, through the ownership of the plan creation & execution of 14-16 event marketing campaigns per year

Generate event delegate revenue using digital & traditional marketing tactics to deliver profitable events for the relevantbrand
Support supplier/vendor efforts by providing marketing support

Forge strategic marketing partnerships with associations & research organizations

Maintain relationships with related internal departments: data research, conferenceproducers, event logistics, sponsorship, telesales, customer services, theonline events team, & the magazine teams

Increase event digital presence through search and socialmedia marketing as well as using analytics to inform decisions
Support the in-house database by devising a data strategy

Core duties:

Web

– Writing and editing web content for all events campaigns you manage
– Ensuring website is SEO optimised
– Create aPPC campaign as applicable
– Provideweb stats

Data & Supplier Management

– Querying of internal databases & database build
– Managing flow of work to data researchers
– Co-ordinate marketing data requests to Audience Manager (AM)
– Working with list brokers, designers, printing companies, mail houses & other vendors

Email

– Liaise with marketing team to schedule emails & submit to AM within the agreednotification period
– Create & execute an email plan – writing copy, segmentation & planning, managing the design of HTML emails

Social Media Execution

– Create & execute the social media plan (using internal groups, joining external groups, following relevant parties & re-tweeting/sharing as relevant)
– Reporting results/responses in marketing team weekly meeting

Search Marketing (SEO & PPC)

– Setting up the meta tags, keywords etc
– Ensuring associated analytics are set up for all events
– Running related AdWords campaigns & updating costs in relevant social media campaigns

Creative

– Writing copy promotional materials

– Writing & issuing PR & news releases
– Brief designers for digital & offline promotional materials
– Working closely with speakers & sponsors to gain their buy in to promote our events through their available promotions channels
– Work closely with other internal marketing teams to ensure cross-promo (i.e.subscriptions team)

Reporting

– Detailed response analysis on an event by event basis i.e. email heat maps and GoogleAnalytics/Ominture web analytics
– Creating & managing event budgets
– Providing marketing plan updates to team
– Ensuring invoices are processed, reconciled & paid on time

You will have at least 3 years of conference experience and be able to demonstrate previous results against commercial KPIs. People management or experience as a mentor is desirable. The right person will show their understanding of the role requirement and the creative flair needed in their application.
