A well-established company based in North London are looking for someone with good finance experience to provide assistance to the accounts team for a 3-month period.

Salary: £26,000 (pro rata)

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Monitoring and managing accounts assistant, timesheet officer and payroll officer
  • Responsible to pay 400-550 staff on a weekly basis including holidays, SMP, pensions, etc and all other payroll related duties
  • Recording and checking new staff details to the system for payroll process
  • Payments to Court order deduction and other payments
  • Ensuring all the timesheets have been received and processed correctly for payment and invoicing
  • Monitoring and control of accounts receivable and payable and control accounts
  • Preparation of weekly profit and loss
  • Preparing weekly reports as per board requirements
  • VAT returns, year-end ledger and preparation of file and assisting external accountants for preparation of final accounts
  • Dealing with all HMRC issues
  • Assisting Finance Manager on preparing reports and other duties
  • Other ad-hoc finance and accounts duties

Required Skills

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Good experience of payroll
  • Strong knowledge and experience of using Sage Line 50 is the most
  • Knowledge of GEL software is beneficial
  • Good time management and ability to prioritise;
  • Ability to manage and work under pressure and to deadlines;
  • Exposure to month-end and year-end, bank reconciliation
  • Previous experience on working similar background, payroll, Sage 50 accounts, EDI, Commensura and management reports and at-least part qualified accountant or equivalent will be highly beneficial
