The principal responsibilities of the buyer’s admin assistant will be:
*Providing administrative support to the buyer and assistant buyer, assisting with reports, purchase orders and critical path management;
*Being a key point of contact for the department;
*Accurate upkeep of the database;
*Building strong relationships with suppliers, stores and other head office departments.
While much of the work will be admin-based, you will get to play an active role in the buying process itself.
In terms of experience and skill-set, the buyer’s admin assistant should have:
*A degree-level education, ideally in a fashion;
*Previous retail experience, either in stores or from a head office placement;
*A strict eye for detail;
*Outstanding communication skills;
*The desire to learn and the ability to learn quickly;
*An organised, analytical approach.
