A hugely successful IT company are currently looking for a Purchase Ledger Clerk to work within their Accounts Department at their Head Office in Surbiton. Candidates will require Purchase Ledger/Accounts Payable experience in a high volume environment, good IT skills, Excel competency, accuracy and a good work ethic.

Your key duties will include:

Administration (Key Accountability)
• Match supplier purchase orders to supplier invoices
• Process and load supplier & overhead invoices both UK and international
• Reconcile and process company credit card transactions
• Reconcile supplier statements
• Set up new supplier accounts
• Daily filing

Accounts payable (Key Accountability)
• Process payment run twice a month. This includes electronic and cheque payment to suppliers
• Obtain copies of supplier invoices and credit notes within a set timeframe
• Investigate supplier queries efficiently and effectively
• Chase suppliers for returns credit notes liaising with returns department
• Process contras
• Make ad hoc payments as and when required in sterling and foreign currencies
• Liaise with purchasing regarding supplier credit limits and change of terms

Reporting (Key Accountability)
• Run aged creditors report once a month & resolve any discrepancies
• Run month end reports i.e. invoice pending and credit note pending

Corporate Accountabilities (Accountability)
• Promote the company in a positive and professional manner both internally and externally
• Adhere to company policies and procedures as directed by the management team
• Acknowledge your personal responsibilities to ensure a safe working environment and in line with H&S legislation

It is essential that you have:
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong IT skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Numerate with a high degree of accuracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A confident and professional telephone manner
• Understanding of foreign currencies desirable
• The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
